10 November, Ballyferriter

We were deeply saddened by the loss of Domhnall Mac Síthigh, Danny Sheehy, poet, essay and memoir writer, broadcaster and lifelong celebrant of the Irish language. His writing and his life will be celebrated at this year’s Small Poetry Festival, An Fhéile Bheag Filíochta, (www.feilebheagfiliochta.com 10-12 November) in Ballyferriter. The festival includes the launch of the English translation of Iomramh Bhréannain MMXI  – In the Wake of St Brendan –  Danny’s  account of a pilgrimage to Iceland on board the yacht Ar Seachrán.

A chapter from this book Sranntarnach/Snoring is already available in a limited letterpress edition in Irish and English with illustrations by Domhnall Bric. The edition includes recordings of the text by the author in Irish and English with a soundtrack by Paul Kirk and Mike Venner.
